Monk’s Café Flemish Sour Ale
€3.70
Monk’s Café is a fresh and mildly acidic old brown. A blend of young and old beers give this ale its mildy-tart, sour taste. Brewed annually by Van Steenberge, it used to be known as Bios Vlaams Bourgogn, and over time became more and more difficult to find, until the owner of a bar in Philadelphia famous for its extensive beer range persuaded the brewery to rename it after them – Monk’s Cafe – and made it his house beer.
